Starry Night wins at PUK and Derbyshire Festival

Posted on September 9, 2012 at 7:20 PM

Basil continues to have a sucessful season with good wins in the Hoys Class at PUK and then going on to stand Champion, and then on to the rescheduled Derbyshire Festival where he won another Hoys class and then went on to stand Reserve. Basil looks fabulous this season, much credit to Robert and Sarah for as always doing a brilliant job.  Thank-you!!

Rock on Robbie stands 2nd and Reserve Champion at the RIHS

Posted on September 9, 2012 at 7:10 PM

Robbie was second in a huge Coloured Class at the RIHS, always quite difficult to work out who is who with 25+ all on the go round together!! Robbie then stood Reserve Champion to the prolific winner The Humdinger, which was a great result as there were 8 in the Championship, and he beat some very good winners in the previous classes. Well done Robbie - you are a star!!

Rock on Robbie qualifies for the Maxi's at Hoys at a VERY wet Kent County!

Posted on September 9, 2012 at 7:00 PM

Robbie qualifies for the Maxi Cobs for HOYS at Kent County, in what was a huge class, with us all chasing those elusive "Golden Tickests". It was a very wet and muddy Kent County, we where lucky not to lose it to the weather, with more mud and rain in what seems to be normal this summer, sadly! We will be looking forward to HOYS with Robbie having the coloureds as well as the Maxi Cobs.

Little Nipper Born on the 4th of July

Posted on July 8, 2012 at 9:50 AM

Little Nipper born on a rare warm and SUNNY day he was by our late traditional stallion Arthur Daly who sadly died on the sunday of Hoys last year, he is one of three foals due, I have to say his Mother was vast, and he is big, with huge knees and hocks, who knows he may make a maxi cob!!

Busy times a head with shows foals and puppies!!

Posted on July 8, 2012 at 9:35 AM

We have a busy month ahead with The Great Yorkshire, Kent County, The Royal International and Hampshire and New Forset, with friends arriving to stay with horses for various shows, more friends and family coming to stay for the Olympics, two foals due and one born this week, and 3 litters of puppies, I may be a little frazzled round the edges!!

Rock on Robbie rocks at The East of England

Posted on July 8, 2012 at 9:25 AM

Rock on Robbie wins a huge Hoys Coloured Class at The East of England Show to qualify for Hoys beating some well known faces,  to take the much coverted Hoys ticket. We are pleased to have got that out of the way, as you can now breath a small sigh of relief! His owner Rebecca Merricks was thrilled, but said she'd have to wait a little longer until she got her lovely horse home!!

Starry Night wins at his first outing to The Derby Meeting

Posted on July 8, 2012 at 9:20 AM

Basil wins, stands Reserve Champion, and qualifies for Hoys on his first trip down South to The Derby Meeting. He really looks now to matured into him self and look as he should look!. These cobs do take an awful long time to fully mature and set in themselves.
With many thanks to Zoe King for the wonderful photo.

The Weather or should I say the rain!!

Posted on July 8, 2012 at 9:10 AM

The weather has played havoc with the season so far, having been cancelled at Windsor, having been towed in twice, ploughed through the mud, got the horses worked and settled, to find it cancelled! Luckily we hadn't set off for Derbyshire Festival, as there might have been one or two long faces. Things are looking a little dicey for Basil this week at The Great Yorkshire, and I hear Hampshire and New Forest is under water, we keep our fingers crossed for Kent next week. The horses haven't had the outings they would normally have, but I guess we are all in the same soggy boat!!. We really need dry weather in more ways than one as hay and feed prices will rocket, so I keep looking at the weather forecast...................

Back to Black qualifies for The Royal International.

Posted on July 8, 2012 at 9:00 AM

Back to Black continues to mature and improve, we have to remember he is still only 4!! Black has done a few novice classes and the odd Open Class, he qualified for the RIHS at Herts County Show. He has been cross country schooling as well, giving the more mature horses a lead, it  is good for him to do other things in life as well!
